Hard times = Hard Drink.
I sat down with Jim Stewart (top left) today and had a beer and a few laughs. I might say Jim Stewart is the most interesting man in the world. The San Diego City Council proclaimed June 9th as "Jim Stewart Day." We got to talking about the economic struggles and comparing today’s times to the great depression of the 1930’s. Talks shifted to prohibition, which sparked an interesting conversation about moonshine, or as Jim called it 100 octane. He told me how his father made this recipe during the great depression and later handed it down to him when he went to college. Now that I have it, if we do fall into another great depression no one that reads this blog will go thirsty after a long day of riding sideways. Let's Enjoy:
5Gal of Water
1 block of yeast
Juice of 1 dozen lemons or oranges
1 pound or raisins
5 pounds of sugar
Warning--- Do Not seal this for 24 hours after mixing
Mix the ingredients into a large bucket. Stir until it bubbles then continue stirring. When the bubbles stop siphon the fluid out of the bucket into another bucket. Be careful not to stir up the bottom when you siphon the fluid. Let the 100 octane sit for a few days and ferment, then enjoy a nice of glass of James stew.
P.S. We are not responsible if it kills you, so ask your doctor if moonshine is right for you! In fact, we are not responsible for anything in this crazy post!

The Dark Horse
Australian surfer Adrian Buchan has put Kelly Slater's world championship celebrations on ice by claiming a maiden ASP title in France. The NSW Central Coast surfer went head-to-head with the eight times world champion and came out on top, 15.73 to 15.16, in a keenly contested final at Les Bourdaines. Had Buchan lost the heat, Slater would have clinched his ninth world title. Slater only needs to finish ninth or better at the next event in Spain to win the world title.
Bombing In Style
Ok. We have all ridin' down a hill on a skateboard. But truth be told, few have ever gone this fast wearing fashion this dope. Not to mention they are filming themselves doing it. Thanks Deuely for sharing!

Pichilemu Point Break
The last night we drove 140 kph to Pichilemu and checked out the point break. Noffy got in the 45 degree water, but the rest of us couldn't get enough Nescafe down to try. Here is the point and the board Noffy shredded.
In Conclusion: Chile F-ing Rips
These are a couple of pictures from Noffy's camera. I swear, there is nothing like this place. The mountains are so steep. The snow is so deep. The sky is so blue. The tap water is perfect. Go there, now. B-Lech's photos are in route, stay tuned.
